Washington Post 1977 Smithsonian Articles By Charles Krause

In 1977 Charles Krause, the staff writer for the Washington Post wrote 12 investigative articles into Smithsonian corruption at that time. The articles revolved around the double-dealing of the then Smithsonian secretary Dillon Ripley. These are articles are cited in the book Odious and Cerberus.

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel Hatch Act Unit, headed by Anna Galindo Marrone investigated Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Director Kim Sajet's partisan political actions.


Even though the District Court for the District of Columbia ruled Kim Sajet's actions were partisan, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, whose job it is to investigate partisan actions by Federal employees did not.
